Hello from Sydney!

Hello everyone!

I am in Sydney now staying with my cousins! They are very nice and welcoming and telling me about what to see and picking me up from train stations and printing out boat timetables and things like that. T and I have spent our first day apart, but we will be reunited again tomorrow morning. I woke up this morning and looked around for her and then remembered that she was at her sister's house. All is going very well. I am loving Sydney. It seems quite a bit like London to me. I went to the Rocks and the Circular quay. I took a sightseeing bus all around and then went to Bondi beach. I liked it. Everyone says it is not a nice beach and too touristy, but I had fun! I should go because they have dial up and I am currently tying up their phone line. See you all soon!

I am in the land down under!

Hello from the land of Ben Lee!

T and I are in Sydney now. We arrived early this evening and I went for a walk around the trendy darlinghurst/ oxford area. There are many shops and cafe's there. T went to bed early so I am checking e-mail and then I will go and organze my backpack before we leave tommorow morning. It was about 14 degrees here at 8pm. So it really doesn't feel too bad.

My ipod is stuck with the screen with a check mark on it that says "ok to disconnect". It will not do anything though. I can not charge it or play music. Any suggestions on how
to fix it please?

T and I spent the last few days on the Northern portion of the North island in beachy/boaty kind of town. We went on a boat trip and saw a pod of dolphins. There were young ones too. We also went to the area where the treaty of Waitangi was signed and saw the big Maori war canoe and the treaty house. It was all very interesting. We then went back to Auckland and went
out with my cousin.

Then this morning we were off to OZ. Hope everything is the Northern hemisphere is going well!!!!

Hello from NZ!

Hello!

T and I are having a wonderful time on our holiday. We are quite close to the Northern tip of the North island in a town called Paihia. I think i spelt it wrong, so apologies to kiwi d! Hope you guys are all doing well. We stayed for 3 days with my relatives. It was lovely. The weather is quite chilly. I was so cold last night, but we will see. We will be going to the treaty area tomorrow and then take the bus back to Auckland and hopefully go out with my cousin. Then we are off to OZ the next day.

I saw my cousin A!

I pulled out my camera and my new memory card fell out into the ocean and got swept away and then the wave brought it back. It was amazing. I don't know if it still works and i am scared to use it incase it breaks my camera, but I still have loads of memory space left.

Hope you are having fun in the boiling heat!!!

Hello from NZ!!!

Hi all!

I am in New Zealand with all the lovely Kiwi's. We arrived and it was very dark because it was so early so we did not want to wander the streets in the dark and it was raining so we were able to get a spot right away at the hostel. So we slept until about noon and then walked around and figured out our plans. We tried to go to sky tour, but it was closed due to weather. So we then went to the quays and went on a city tour. We walked around and we then were cold and wet so we had coffee and we kept remarking about the weather and how we can not even use umbrellas becasue the wind was stronger than we had ever seen. it was difficult to move in it and then difficult to catch your breath!!!! We figured that it was typical kiwi weather and
thought nothing of it. Then we had coffee and the doors of the shop were shaking violently. The next day we heard on the radio and in the paper that there were gale force winds and a hurricane warning. The roof of a flat in Auckland blew off and they were without power for 3 days in Corremandel. So, I guess anything is better than that!

T is enjoying the hostelling vibe, which is wicked. We went on a magic bus trip to the Waitomo caves and saw the glow worms. it was very impressive. We then went to Rotorua for a hangi and Maori show. Our hostel in Rotorua had a mineral pool, so we got up early for a swim. It was steamy and warm. We were not able to zorb. :( We did go to huka falls today on a crazy rad jet boat.

Just put the prawns in a "chilly bin".

We are well and safe and having a wonderful time. I had Maori sweet potato twice. I can not get a hold of CL, but it is the school holiday util Monday I think so maybe then. I left a message on her machine. I called Cl and she will meet us in Auckland on Sunday. I have to call her again tomorrow. She seemed happy to hear from us! Where did they sign that treaty? We went to the zoo as well and saw a real kiwi bird. I have finally figured out what to wear to be warm. Two sweaters and a jacket and a scarf and a hood.

It is actually like a late fall day in Calgary, but at home we would wear gloves and winter jackets. Kiwi people wear shorts and capri's though.

Let T's mom know that we are well when you talk to her again!

I will e-mail again. Hope all is as good on the Northern Hemisphere as it is on the Southern.

Love,
Natalie

Hello All!

Hi everyone!

I am in Toronto now and I have been here for a few days. Just doing all the touristy things, shopping and looking around. I am going to the concert tomorrow. I am so looking forward to it! I went to Niagara falls today and went on the boat and looked around. Everything is so small and calm after NY. Toronto seems like a nice city. I am liking it quite a bit. It is such a slower pace than NY and I am not going quite as crazy seeing things either. I was so tired when I arrived here. I hope you gys are all doing well. See you soon!

Hello Again!!

Hello everyone!

I am in Times Square right now and saw an e-mail place and I thought I would e-mail you all again!!

I still am loving New York! I went on a tour of Uptown yesterday and went to the Empire State Building and walked along 5th Avenue and some ice cream outside of Tiffany's, not quite breakfast, but good enough for me! New York is just as good as London, the only thing missing is the British accents. Then I just wandered around!

Sorry, I don't know how much nmore time I have at the computer, so this will be all crazy.

Today I went to went to Brooklyn and had the best pizza at a place under the Brooklyn Bridge. Then to all these places from Saturday Night Fever. The place he buys his pizza friom is still there, but the shirt place is gone. Then i went to Coney Island and it was very kind of English-sea-side amusements type of place.

Then I walked around union square for a bit, went to Soho, the Bloomingdales etc. Then onto Canal street , Chinatown, Little Italy.

I have had really busy days, so it is so nice to sit down for a minute!

Lion King is sold out unforunately, but hopefully I will see something else. I will go to the ticket booth tomorrow.

Hope you are all doing very well and I will talk to you all when i get back!

NYC

Hi all!

Just aquick note to let you all know that I got here fine and New York is
absolutely wonderful!!!! To those of you who did not know I was going, I
went to New York! Anyway, I have very little time to write this, but I have
seen Times square and it is crazy because they say it looks like day time
late at night and it truly does. It kind of messes with you because you
know it is night, but it is so light out. (Mom and Dad - I was not there
alone at night, don't worry!!!) I also went to see the Statue of Liberty
and Ellis Island.

See you later!!
